Digi Collect SELECTION APPLICATION

1. COMPANY a. Current status: na b. Any additional information: we mostly make use of open source technologies ,hence we dont own any patent for the time being. 2. BUSINESS a. Where are you in your business life cycle (product, customer validation, revenues etc) We have developed a basic version of the mobile based geospatial data collection application, with a basic web server from google, using these we have done customer validation for a company called premier surveys.we have also shown demo of application and the GIS based services that we can offer to various private and government organizations. as on date we are yet to get any revenue. b. What milestones have you achieved so far, what is your plan for next 3-69-12 months?

Look ahead plan for the next 3-6 months Technical goals: Develop the product to include additional features and get the MVP Build our web page design and deploy the web mapping and GIS platform build the asset management solution and integrate with digi collect. Develop a team of software ,webGIS, and technical experts to be part of our company based on needs of the top priority customers build customizations into digi collect Prepare technical reports to show how by using our digi collect and gis solutions ,companies and organizations are being able to save time,energy,and rework

Other goals 1) Do extensive market survey to find out more details about Potential customers across various sectors Existing competitors Pain points of customers and augmenting the product to help solve the customers pain points

Based on the above extensive survey, Finally identify that sector which we have to concentrate first on doing the marketing. 2) Also discuss and evolve the pricing strategy for selling application as a product and /or selling our GIS based analytics services. 3) Develop standard operating procedures (sop ) for all activities including Technical presentation of the product to customers Our methodology for gathering customer requirements Methodology in meeting the customer requirements.

c. What are your strategies to ensure competitiveness and differentiation?

our core strength is analysis and visualization of the data collected using digi collect, we are trained in using GIS,remotesensing and statistical packages like minitab to do further analysis of the data collected ,hence our key differentiator is that we not only help organizations to collect data efficiently but also help them get more sense of the data collected also unlike most of our competitors we also know to prepare and use additional GIS data layers for better understanding of data . for example getting high resolution satellite images, getting elevation profile ,ward boundaries,police control boundaries to augment the data collected in the field.

d. What are your target market segments? How do you plan to acquire customers / generate revenues?

since more and more people use smart phones ,and with the importance given to getting the right information at the right time and right location also geospatial technology is going to play a major role in all sectors right from agriculture ,to insurance to real-estate to retail ,and also it will become imperative that all the governments departments also adopt Geospatial technologies (as most of them offer services to citizens and most of these services are associated with a geographic aspect) Hence we feel there is an opportunity in all these sectors to offer our product/service or both. But again we are young and dont know exactly which sector has to be targeted first and which sector next hence we want the help of Mentors from KRYRON to educate us and guide us on which segment should be our target customers and how to retain them.

3. TEAM a. What is the current status of founders (working full time vs. part time, org chart / roles & responsibilities)? How and when will all the founders engage full time with the startup? Venu and prakash are in the final semester of their Masters in geoinformatics , ( no coursework and classes ,only project work ) hence they can contribute their time and energy to startup . Venu would be the team lead, and would be involved in admin,strategy,technical ,financial aspects . Prakash would be involved with all the technical and operational aspects Shankar would be involved in marketing ,strategy ,PRO, aspects. In future depending upon, product,market,expansion plans we want to hire people on salary basis with basic incentives This is just a basic organizational structure and responsibilities, we want KYRON to help us evolve the organization structure ,roles and responsibities etc. How are the founders currently sustaining financially? How long can you go without receiving funding?

Both shankars and venus father are into business and hence can sustain for more than a year without funding. Prakash can also sustain without external funding for more than 6 months.

b. Please provide details about employees / interns Apart from the 3 of us,we dont have any other employees or interns ,however we are fortunate to have Mr Shivkumar (working in IIHS as GIS EXPERT ) to advise us and help us out on certain important technical aspects . Also we have the help of software developer from TENEXPERTS company, they helped us in bringing out the basic version of DIGI collect(we got introduced to them when we participated in the in50hours idea to product event conducted by the startup center).

c. What are the gaps in your current team (founders, interns, employees). How / when you propose to fill these gaps? We have good technical knowledge and knowhow of GIS and remotesensing technologies, and their applications. What we lack is a trained software engineer who is good at java,javascripting,web technologies and postgres sql. Hence our immediate requirement is a software engineer and a web applications expert. Also we want a guide whom we can completely trust and go to him for any decision regarding the pricing, market analysis etc 4. GENERAL a. If you are selected by Kyron, who will attend the 16 week accelerator program from the founding team at Bangalore? We feel that for all the technical work in bringing out the MVP venu and prakash would be sufficient to attend the 16 week cohort,and Shankar can concentrate on the marketing aspects,however for all the management talks,base camps,boot camps,knowledge sharing sessions all three of us would like to attend the cohort. And if required the startup investor would also like to participate,to understand what we are doing to plan further investment/risk taking factors. b. How do you plan to utilize Kyrons initial investment of $10,000?

Getting the services of a goodsoftware developer ,migrate to a better server platform ,small office expences,working capital to run the office for a minimum of six months. c. We have received large no of applications for our first cohort and are considering admitting a couple of additional startups for the program. Would you be interested in joining the program without investment from Kyron (of course, we will not take any equity in your company and you will get all the program benefits including help in downstream funding?

Yes we are interested in joining KYRON programe even without the investment. If this be the case ,we would want to approach family,friends and other interested private investors to raise capital for the initial expeneces like server,office space etc with our personal securities. In case we require funds above 100 lakhs and above for future development ,then we join as partner with them and mutually share the profit based on the performance and based on level of risk taken factors. What we really want from KYRON is the practical knowledge that we will gain by going through this programe,we feel this is will be more useful and practical than a MBA , hence we want this practical knowledge. But more than this it is the guidance, mentorship and initial handholding that KYRON would offer us to help our product reach greater heights. Hence we are ready to join KYRON without any funding,however all 3 of us feel that we should definitely contribute back to the KYRON programme for all its help and guidance it would offer us, hence even without the initial investment we would like to give kyron a part of our profit, so that kyron can help many more young entrepreneurs like us to start on their own and succeed.

Concluding remarks We want to discuss with the mentors of KYRON , more about each of these aspects and answers that we are submitting in this form. With the help and guidance of KYRON , we definitely know that we can achieve great things and also take this geospatial technologies to the common man, because we feel that both the money and satisfaction of helping people with right info at right time lies at the bottom on the pyramid.
