Video of the Week Double joint igubal bearing Absorbs vibrations, minimises noise and offers exceptional service life
The double joint igubal bearings from plastic bearing expert igus offer customers a new type of self aligning bearing solution. They come in spherical ball as well as ball and socket varieties, both still retaining the same characteristics of the standard single-ended version. Ball and socket joints are more than simple links for moving applications; they can crucially simplify the design and improve the technical merits of an application. The three-part system has a wear resistant iglidur polymer liner, which guarantees an exceptional service life. It also absorbs micro vibrations and minimises noise and can be installed rapidly and easily by hand. The retention force is much higher than the assembly force and thus ensures system stability even in the most extreme applications. The spherical bearing similarly absorbs vibrations, minimises noise and has an exceptional service life. These characteristics are created by the iglidur spherical bearing, which also creates the self-aligning effect. These double joint bearings have already been integrated into a wide variety of applications: Convertible roof on a car Smooth and quiet operation is an essential requirement of the drive mechanism, without the need for maintenance and additional misalignment compensation Motorcycle trailers High corrosion resistance and low weight are important attributes Food Processing and Packaging equipment
