Concept design advantages/disadvantages:

Advantages: The 4 hollow base structure will help to distribute the loads of the overall structure and also stop the structure from splaying. The triangular pyramid structure will help keep a steady structure during loading and enable the structure to balance the load symmetrically through the middle of the structure. There is a large loading platform through the centre of the structure to accommodate any vibrations during the lowering of the load. The structure does not use much material because the beams only cover the basic structure which will save on costs and weight.

Disadvantages: The hollow structure will make designing with alimunium very difficult since making a uniformly rounded structure is difficult to manufacture. This design of the hollow leg will also use a lot of material. The legs of the pyramid structure are held by very small joining points which lower the integrity of the overall design. The pyramid structure leaves very little room for any kind of mounting points or supporting structures. The beams of the pyramid structure materials are difficult to manufacture due to the complexity of the design. The pyramid structure has compromised the internal the volume in the structure and reduced availability of parts space.
