In which way do you think that semantics and pragmatics theory could contribute to your practice in the FL classroom?

Semantic and pragmatic like fields of study of linguistics have been developed during the last century last fields of great importance due to them emphasize their work in the comprehension of the language in all the ways possible and the recognition of the acquisition of the language in the case of the language as a foreign language; I consider that the use of pragmatic and semantics not just promotes to the new English language learners avoid miscommunication and misunderstandings. At this contribution we should add the creation of an awareness of the need for cross-cultural sensitivity in communication, due to in the case of Colombia we are living a process of globalization, so we need to be more conscious about a world which is shrinking

So the language educators with the use of pragmatic and semantic should be more willing to support more the understanding of pragmatics and semantics and in this way they may leave aside the intercultural communication breakdown because this idea can help us to teach the whole of the meaning of the language in order to achieve full productive knowledge of words.
