SCHOOLS BRIEF HISTORY Sekolah Kebangsaan Langkon, Kota Marudu was built from the idea of a group of rubber worker in 1961 due to the need of rubber plantation workers at the time. In 1961, Mr. Weight (Langkon Estate Manager) with the permission of the British Government (North Borneo) has donated Cinema building which can fill up to 100 people to make the school during the day. The school was named "Langkon Vernacular Native School" or "Native Langkon Voluntary School" and has a number of 50 students consisting of children of rubber tappers. SK Langkon is the second Malay-medium schools that were built after the establishment of SK Pekan Kota Marudu, SK Bengkongan and SK Tigaman. In 1963, the new school site has been submitted by the Management of the Government Estate Langkon Borneo which is approximately 7 acres which provide a site for a school building block and houses for teacher. The new building was opened by OKK Awang Ali (Chief Native Bandau Division) and the first headmaster at the time was Mr Salleh bin Matusin. Nowadays, SK Langkon have an administration building, a library, three school buildings, a preschool building, 5 units of teachers house and a computer laboratory block (under construction) and shares school building with the SMK Langkon, Kota Marudu.
