Morris congratulates the North Tipperary Emerging Talent Programme The last few weeks has seen all the hard work that has been put into both boys and girls Emerging Talent Programmes paying off. The u 14 and U 16 Emerging Talent squads headed to Reading for an intensive weekend of Football. They played two games against Reading and more than matched their Premiership opponents with the U 14s winning 3-0 and the u 16s Drawing 3-3.This is even more remarkable as their opponents play only football and the North Tipp boys have to mix soccer with other sports. Last week then saw two of the North Tipperary players being named on the Irish u 15 squad, Stephen Nolan and Tommy Holland taking their place amongst the elite of football in the country. This weekend saw another section of the Emerging Talent Programme the u 16 Ladies team perform incredibly in the Waterford u 16 cup just losing out the final to Dublin Metropolitan after beating Cork, Limerick County and the hosts Waterford. The hard work of the u 16 Emerging talent programme for the ladies has received a huge boost with 5 of the squad been called up for Trails for the Irish u 16 soccer panel , 3 from Nenagh A F C Carly Wright, Laura Kavanagh and Aishling O Brien and 1 each from Birdhill and Borris St Kevins. James Scott the Football development officer for North Tipperary and his coaches have done an incredible job over the last few seasons bring North Tipperary from the poor position that they were in to the Heights where they have now find themselves in with players being technically prepared for a game that has become even more technical over the last few years. Of course the clubs ultimately have to be congratulated for their hard work in providing the volunteerism and facilities to nurture these players from the first day that they take up football. Well done to them all Yours sincerely Cllr. Samie Morris 15/04/13
