Abul Ala Maududi has written a critical account of Muslim history from the transformation of Caliphate to the kingship.

Although the piece of writing hurts the religious sensitivities that provoked many orthodox Muslims, yet in historical context it provides a comprehension to understand vicissitudes and faults that transformed the Caliphate into kingship after the four rightly guided Caliphs. He presented a systematic version of various phases of the transformation of Caliphate into kingship during the period of the last two rightly guided Caliphs. Madudi view opened a new challenge to assertion the authenticity of his work in the light of other which encountered it. His position in academic fields is recognized in the whole Muslim world. The key questions will discuss in the paper are, what are the bases on which Madudui developed his view pointes? What is the position of other scholars on Madudi views? Why his work challenged by the other scholars? How far authenticity existed in the Maududi views and his interpretation of the phenomenon? The stand point of Madudi of the conversion of the Caliphate into Kingship in which he surpassed some historical factors while taking account also concern of this paper.
