SUMMER 2009 aha INTERNSHIP See ae @ sc RECOVERY PROJECT ‘The SCI Recovery Project is looking to fill exercise-trainer assistant intern positions for summer semester 2009, The SCI Recovery Project is a local non-profit organization specializing in providing exercise based recovery programs for individuals who have suffered a spinal cord injury or similar trauma. We use adaptive exercise, vibration training technology, RTI's 300 FES bike, ‘and other modalities to achieve optimal functional return. This internship is a wonderful ‘opportunity for students to get hands on experience in an alternative therapy setting while challenging their ideas and knowledge to better the lives of spinal cord injury clients, and their ‘education, This is a physically intense program for both our clients and our exercise trainers and their assistants. Applicants must be active, and physically fit. Applicant requirements are as follows: © Applicant must be of junior or senior standing before internship is to begin and have a minimum of a 2.06PA. + Applicant must fulfil al Integrative Physiology Department requirements before internship is to begin (this might include being accepted by our organization before registration for the internship). + Applicant must have slid knowledge of anatomy and exercise to succeed in our program. ‘Applicant must be comfortable with hands-on experience with clients Applicant must be able to lift 100Ibs of body weight. Applicant must be wiling to engage in labor intensive work for 3-4 hours at time.
