Mine! is the story of three adorable green frogs who lived on a small island. The three frogs, named Milton, Rupert, and Lydia. By looking at the cover, I notice that it is a Fable by Leo Lionni we did an author study on his last year. Text Characteristics: Simplistic pictures- Cut out paper collages T2 Vocab Traditional Literature- Fable characteristics Tricky Words: quarrelsome, quarreled, quibbled- 2 (Alliteration) Bickering-6 Defiantly- 7 Subsided- 10 OBJ: SWABT to apply knowledge of fables. SWBAT to infer the lesson based on understanding of the text. SWABT to use clue to solve unknown words. Teaching Point:* Intro book * Read pg 1-5 Describe the characters traits of the frogs *6 and 7- Stop and Predict- Think about characteristics of fables There will be a lesson learned. *8-10- What is happenings- change of feelings- How do you know? They felt better sharing the same fears and hopes Finish Book Lesson Learned? Assessment: To assess my students, I will be taking anecdotal records during whisper reading. TC through small group and partner chats.
