The Base Station Antenna Future

LTE700 (US) Low band Ultra-broad-band High-Band broadband LTE2600
BWA

The number of frequency bands is increasing driving the need for more complicated multi-band antennas
RFS is investing in multi-band antenna technology that provides new functionality while limiting the impact on existing cell sites

New Frequency spectrum = new antennas types

Antennas with broader frequency range is needed, trend for Ultra Broadband Load in the tower can be a big challenge No additional antenna in tower! Swap one X-Pol antenna with one X2-Pol antenna New cables transmission-lines or diplexers?

RF performance and reliability
RF performance
Best in class Noise Figure = what is a TMA intended for (improve BTS reception) and RFS is #1 Very low insertion losses (BTS transmit not degraded by TMA) In both links, RFS TMA bring high values (1dB is 10% more traffic) TMA

Reliability
Only RFS has HALT chambers (Highly accelerated life testing)
BTS

Passive Intermodulation (PIM) free

PIM is linked to quality of assembly PIM can totally desensitize the BTS (call drops)
