Feedback

To find out whether my promotional video is successful or not in the real world, I assembled a focus group comprising of two 18 year olds, one two 19 year olds and one 20 year old. Gender ratio consisted of one female and four males; she was one of the 19 year olds. I also contacted my client for feedback. For my focus group I asked three questions.

Question 1: Would this video be successful if it was uploaded online and people saw it? All of my focus group was in agreement and all stated that it would work as a promotional video in the real world. The one 18 year old stated that the video gets it point across clearly. The one 20 year old stated this also; he also stated that the school is promoted in a positive and happy image.

Question 2: What was good about the video? Everyone was in agreement here also. Both of the 19 year olds stated that the kids looked natural, like the camera wasnt even there. One of the 18 year olds said the video had plenty of clean cuts which made it flow. The other 18 year old stated that it got information across very easily. All agreed that the video flowed very well also with the transitions and the clips.

Question 3: What needs improving? Everyone was in agreement here also. They all stated that the sound levels were at times a bit pitchy and for next time, I should change the levels a bit more so that the sound comes out much clearer. The major problem here was the fact that the head teachers narrative was to quiet and could not be heard other the sound track.

Clients Response My client has already stated that the promotional video is perfect. That everything is in sync, everything flows and the video gets it point across very easily. What she enjoyed most about it was the combination of the overlapping narrative, the soundtrack of children singing and that the footage linked with the narrative.
