Wake up to todays biggest issue! We need to save our environment and it starts at home! Heres a family that tried to make a difference on their electricity usage. In order to save electricity and to cut down on our usage, I reminded my family members to turn off their lights and airconditioners when they werent in use. I also reminded them to use the fans instead of the a/c if it wasnt too hot, and to put the a/cs on a timer so they would turn off when the room was cold enough. I even reminded them to unplug or turn off the electric plugs to their phone chargers when not in use.

According to my data table, in 8 months we only dropped down 1000 KwH. This means, for it to reach around 300 KwH, from 5572 KwH, we need to reduce 5000 KwH. It took 8 months to reduce 1000, so to reduce 5000, it would take 8 months 5 more times, which is 40 months, plus the original 8 is a total of 48 months. From the scatter plot it looked like there was a really slow decrease. From the coordinates it looked like the decrease over 8 months was half a grid line, which would be 1000 KwH. It looked like it would take another 5 repetitions of going down half a grid line for it to reach 300 KwH, which is close to zero. So 5 times 8 is 40 months, plus the original 8 is a total of 48 months.

(1, 6438) and (8, 5572) slope = m =

y=mx+b 5572 = 123.9(8) + 6563.2 = b = 123.9 + 6563.2 300 = 123.9 + 6563.2 50.55 = 51 = x
To find the best-fit line for my data, I found a line that goes evenly through the data. The line went through the first and last points of my data and there were three data points above and three data points below my line, and one at each end. I used the two end data points to find my equation. I subtracted the first data point from the last and found the slope to be -123.9. Then I found the yintercept for my best-fit line by using one of the coordinates in slope-intercept form. The y-intercept was 6563.2. I then plugged in the amount of KwH (y-axis) I wanted to find how long it will take for the energy usage to reach 300 KwH. It will take 50.55 months, which is rounded up to 51 months.
