Minutes of the Reading PTO

January 13, 2009

Attendance: Rayna Bishop, Crystal Millard, Amy Harkins, Jane Blanchard

Secretary’s Report- The minutes from November were reviewed. We are still awaiting our 501c-3
approval.

Treasurer’s Report- The current account balance is $3101.55; this maintains a reserve of $1500.00,
leaving us a usable amount of $1601.55. Recent profits are: pie sale- $400.69, Fall Breakfast- $405.62.
Recent expenses are: Holiday bazaar- $23.48, Ski Program- $2005.60. The PTO account no longer
holds any funds for the Reading Community Recreational Space Committee.

General Discussion- The Ski Program is off to a great start. Our coordinator, Koreen Henne, has done a
wonderful job organizing this year’s program. Our first day on the slopes went off without a hitch.
We received many compliments from the Ascutney Mountain staff regarding our students’ excellent
behavior.
We will not be doing any fundraising at this time, due to the upcoming commitments to the
Town Meeting lunch and Talent Show baskets that are raffled off. Rayna will start the preliminary
preparations for the Town Meeting lunch, but the majority will be decided at the next PTO meeting.
Due to the lack of attendance, we were unable to proceed with the appointment of new chair
positions. It was decided that we will postpone nominations until the next regularly scheduled PTO
meeting in February. Rayna will submit to Barb a flyer for publication in the Informer announcing the
next meeting and open chairs, as well as post it in the appropriate places. She will also send the flyer
home with the students.

The meeting adjourned at 7:30 pm.

Next meeting: Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at 6:30 pm, in the Reading School library.

Respectfully submitted,
Rayna Bishop
