The focus group consists of:

Combination of students, teachers, including a math teacher, and parents

Math Career Month

Activities done each week involving math:

Write paper about a famous person whose career involves math Ask how math is used in their everyday lives keep a journal share with class at the end of the week List careers in which they could incorporate math the same way they have done in their everyday lives. Field trip to Microsoft at the end of the month

H.S. Counselor Visit

Counselor visits to discuss career goals and academic planning Helps students develop a 4-year school schedule based on goals and interests Conducted in homeroom Opportunity for students to ask questions regarding current academic performance and future career goals
