Executive Summary

Rve Thtre has gone through many challenges in its past, has faced many difficulties, and has a long history of learning from its mistakes. In the history section of this business plan, the challenges and the success of this business are clearly stated and explained. Rve Thtre has a lot to learn, but also has learned a lot from previous mistakes that have been made. It continues to grow and the history of this business shows that it has already come very far. The visions of the Rve Thtre Company have high standards for itself and plans on continuing with its success. This success will be known as unmistakable, unmatchable, and unpredictable throughout its years of being a strong and stable business. Rve Thtre teaches three different categories of classes, keeping its students wellrounded and ready for the theatre world. These classes include: acting, singing, and dancing. Many different age groups are welcome to enjoy these classes as they are open all week long and create a great environment for its students. Productions, plays, and musicals are performed on Rve Thtres glorious stage where tis actors and actresses shine in the spotlight. Even if an audience doesnt favor the theatres high-level performances, they can enjoy a mystery dinner that is held at Rve Thtres small restaurant. The theatre markets many ranges and ages of people, with not only a wide audience but a great advertising campaign. Rve Thtre has many strengths and many weaknesses, yet all-inall learns from its mistakes, learns from its weaknesses, and uses its strengths to its fullest capacity.

History Background
Acting classes were no longer good enough. The Board of Directors had many suggestions sent to them that they should start singing classes to go along with the acting ones. Because of this, singing classes were adapted and the theatre was opened up to a whole new genre of theatreMusicals. It appeared that the singing classes were very well liked, however it was not bringing in as much of a new audience as it was thought to. Finances struggled because more and more money was being put into the Singing classes and the teachers/instructors but there werent enough new students coming in to pay for them. Another problem formed financially when the Board questioned to get rid of singing classes altogether and the students who were enrolled in both singing and acting classes threatened to leave Rve Thtre if their classes were taken away. Finances continued to get worse. Because of the unstable finances, a new advertising campaign was formed. The Board of Directors pulled together a team of very few to come up with new ideas to bring in more students and more money to the company. Posters were put up on the building, flyers were sent out all around yet nothing seemed to help the cause. Finally, a new idea was brought to the Board conferences and school presenting. Conferences were held at the Rve Thtre building where middle schools and high schools were invited to attend. The main themes of these Conferences were Self-Confidence and Becoming Someone New. With these topics the conference taught students that every individual was special and important in their own way, helping students selfconfidence soar with its messages. This advertised to schools and youth what Rve Thtre was all about and that it was a fun and safe place to be. School Presenting was also a huge hit because students are always encouraged to have extra-curricular activities while in middle and

high school and Rve Thtre joined with their schools to help them be able to do that. A large new audience was captured and classes grew uncontrollably. With the new advertising campaign, classes grew so largely that students had to apply to get into classesand some were rejected. The age range changed once again to 6 through 20. A new young class was created for children as the Board came out with the new idea that You are never too young to be in the spotlight. Classes were growing and the space of the rented building was beginning to not be sufficient enough to hold as many students as needed. Rve Thtre moved out of its little rented space and built its own building. A restaurant was built into the new building, though it was no ordinary restaurant. This new portion of the building brought in a whole new category of service. Once it was built it was to be used for Mystery Dinners, opening up to a wider audience and bringing in more of the older generation. Rve Thtre is a well-rounded academy and it needed something else that could help our young student actors and actresses become a Triple Threat. Dancing classes were introduced and similar to the singing classes, it was well favored and this class did bring in a whole new variety of students. Classes grew more and more and now weve adapted enough to even teach adults. Age changed to 6 through 35, opening up dancing, acting and singing lessons to adults who were interested in the theatre business. Funding faltered when classes continued to grow, although it was not as devastating as when our singing classes were introduced. The Board once again came up with a new way to help funds get back on top. Balls and Masquerades were held at Rve Thtre where our

students, their families and friends, as well as anyone else who wanted to join in on this fun event was invited to dress up and take a step back into the past. Different Balls were held with different themes where the participants would dress up and enjoy the social event. Funding was stabilized for Rve Thtre through the ticket sales of these events. The System is something that the Board put out there for the studentsto help them grow and become better at their skills. The System is where any students enrolled in our classes (acting, singing, or dancing) could audition for the productions that are put on twice a month in the theatre. Because a large portion of their theatre resumes were built on the foundation of their classes in Rve Thtre, they had high recommendations and were often casted in the plays, giving them the opportunity to strengthen their skills at acting as well as giving them experience. Another level of the system was tested when the students who were not only enrolled in the classes but also performed in Rve Thtre productions were allowed to apply for an acting job in the MD restaurant where they could get paid to act. Again this offered a great experience and also opportunities for them to have a small career in the theatre business. The student age requirement to apply for this position was 17.

The Society is something that formed almost all on its ownthrough the students of the academy. The society is a group of students who worked together and participated in two or more classes (acting, singing, or dancing), were casted in at least one play/production at Rve Thtre and had attended at least one Mystery Dinner event while enrolled at Rve Thtre. These students were ones that went the extra mile and the Board acknowledged them and their Society, giving them awards and certificates. This created and solidified The Society group which continues to grow and become more popular among the students.

Strengths
Rve Thtre has many strengths and weakness and we are utilizing each and every one of them. We are not a perfect company but we will not overlook our flaws instead we will take action to improve them. We found that our marketing strategy, our research and Development strategy, and our staffing strategy all have very powerful strengths. With each of our strengths we have set two goals in order to preserve them throughout the life span of Rve Thtre. Strength 1: In the Marketing Department we found that we could utilize our ability to change themes according to events that are currently happening. Goal 1: For the year of 2013 we will frequently change our themes and have a new theme for each month in the year. Goal 2: For the year of 2013 we will have themes and events to match every holiday and any special occasions. Some examples of the themes would be Halloween, Valentines, News Years Eve, Christmas and Easter. Strength 2: In the Research and Development Department we found that because we are creating and writing our own plays and productions we can relate them to the current events happening in our consumers lives. Goal 1: We will keep our research and development updated weekly with the public events to grab their interest; to keep this goal in mind we will be very interactive with our surrounding community by organizing monthly service activities for the 2013 year.

Weaknesses
Here at Rve Thtre we know that there are plenty of opportunities for improvement. We chose three main places where we would like to improve. We have set two goals for each in order to develop these areas into powerful assets. Weakness 1: In our Marketing Department we saw that the theater industry isnt a popular event known to all of the public. Goal 1: This upcoming year we will appeal to the public by using a promotion called the real deal discount starting in June. This promotion will allow customers to come back with a discounted visit. Goal 2: We will work alongside other companies to co-advertise. For this upcoming year we want to work with three local restaurants to do murder mystery dinners at their restaurants by the end of the year. This would allow us to show our potential to a new target of customers who havent been to our facility. Weakness 2: In our Research and Development Department we discovered that our productions and events must be original to appeal to customers wants. Goal 1: We will provide a diverse selection of entertainment. Our productions will change every two weeks for the next year. Goal 2: We will have a diverse selection by taking customer input and implementing it into our production process. For the upcoming year the public will see two of the most requested productions we had seen in our surveys. Weakness 3: In our Staffing Department we found that the most important asset is our employees. We have to leave customer with an enjoyable experience in order to have loyal

returning customers. We want employees to be more creative and interactive. We are willing to reward anyone who is recognized by our customers Goal 1: Within the next two months we will do an evaluation of our staff and make sure we have the right people on the bus. We will make adjustments accordingly and hire enthusiastic employees who have a passion for the entertainment industry. Goal 2: Each and every month we will recognize and praise our staff members who are going above and beyond. We will provide incentives to our employees for any positive feedback from customers.

Summary
We know that our business will be successful because we have already come so far with the little that we have. We have taken it as far as possible with the resources we have and now its time for Rve Thtre to make that jump. We have our strengths of connecting with the community by writing plays that stand current in the community we are located. We have a strength at getting credible students, who we think have the potential and passion for this career, to move up in the drama world and give Rve Thtre a credible name. There are still ways we can improve and make Rve Thtre just as appealing as the movie theaters. The real deal we believe will help with this. Just by making original plays, that will help keep Rve Thtre a more appealing form of entertainment and the community will be able to relate to the events in our plays. To top it all off, we need loyal and enthusiastic employees to get customers to come back again We would like to provide incentives for our employees to be the best they can at getting customers to enjoy our productions and maybe even recruit new staff to join Rve Thtre. By listening to our employees we believe we can only get better. We, as team leaders at Rve Thtre, understand that some of the greatest ideas come from the lower levels of the company. In its entire, its not really a question of whether we will be successful or not. We have proven through the years that we have what it takes to stay running and be of worthy competition. The real question is to be or not to be an investor of this company and help this company make its final leap to be at the top.
