Filipiniana Category at UST art competition 1936 Gold Medal. Metropolitan Theater Art Competition 1941- first Honorable mention for Defense of Tirad Pass 1952-Best female figure Sultana ; 3rd Prize Ina ng Lahi and best landscape Balut Island at Art Association of the Philippines

Dumlao never had any formal

education in arts One journalist labeled him as figurativist People consired him as muralist, a portrait canvas artist, a sculptor and a stained glass innovator. His inspirations are Michaelangelo, da Vinci, Bernini and Daly He restored Spolarium in 1960.
