In 1987, Spike Lee directs video for Miles Davis video Tutu, which features a different song from the then premier album at minute intervals. Note Lees signature hallway/corridor shots, peculiar ground angles and rolling/rotating subject with camera.

Scene from the film where the Quintet plays the title track Mo Better Blues Note Bleek and Shadows respective solos. Very similar to Davis and Coltrane.

Fun Facts

This filmed prompted jazz sales to spike up in the first few years of the 90s, nearly sparking a jazz revolution but there was no film follow-up. ^Refer to the scene where Shadow & Bleek argue about music sales. The club where scenes take place is named Beneath the Underdog, the same name as Charles Mingus autobiography.
