5 -- Situation: Fire at a CNG filling station and a nearby petrol station in Mayur Vihar Extension Time: 11.50 am Response: A PCR van reached the spot within 5 minutes, followed by a team of disaster management officials. They started evacuation of the "victims" and stationary vehicles from both premises. The victims were laid in the open. By noon, two fire tenders and a centralised accident and trauma services (CATS) van reached the spot. Hazmat-Cum-Emergency Appliances reach the site at 12.35. The process of hospitalisation was more or less over by 12.45. Loopholes: Project coordinator Anjali D was seen shouting for another CAT van, which came at 12.16 pm. But again only one "victim" was taken away. At 12.22 pm, the Mayur Vihar SHO was seen asking disaster management officials if he needed to take away the onlookers. He also looked clueless as how to deal with "the leakage of poisonous gas." Mayur Vihar SDM PK Dabbas, said, "Ambulances came a bit late. But glitches will be there."
