Grade Level: Early Childhood- Elementary Description: This is a Hebrew reading assessment checklist that is designed to be used specifically with Step-by-Step, by Esti Wolf. This rubric can be used as either a formative or a summative assessment where the teacher is able to specifically pinpoint areas in the students reading where he may need more help. Goals/Objectives: Teachers will analyze their students Hebrew reading proficiency and will complete the assessment to arrive at the most effective strategy to help their student read better. Instructions: 1. The page numbers indicate where the different reading skills can be found in "Step-by-Step," by Esti Wolf. 2. Those sections of the book can be used as practice pages / exercises for completing the assessment. Variations: This checklist assessment would be helpful to a teacher even when used without the Step-by-Step program since it gives specific guidelines as to what skills the students should have in their reading.
