3-Day Close Quarters Battle (CQB) Offensive Stronghold Clearance

Course Description: The 3-Day CQB Offensive Stronghold Clearance course is designed to teach military, law enforcement and select vetted Government Security Contractors the fundamental skills of close quarters room combat and Offensive Stronghold Clearance. Students will receive formal lessons and extensive training from RB1 Cadre who are former Special Operations Soldiers with extensive Operational experience in conducting CQB and Counter Terrorism. The course will consist of square range work and internal room combat training culminating in progressive Force-on-Force scenarios. REDBACK ONE Combat Training Systems 1

Each day will begin at 0800 and conclude NLT 2200. The course will begin on the square range where students will be trained in surgical close range shooting techniques that focus on speed, efficiency and accuracy with both pistol and carbine. Students will be expected to pass a shooting test IAW the Redback One CQB Live Fire Qualification Assessment prior to the completion of the course. Training will then transition to formal lessons in the conduct of room combat and Offensive Stronghold Clearance method of CQB. Practical lessons will follow theory lectures to solidify teaching points and develop proficiency in the techniques taught. Students will receive constant feedback on individual performances throughout the course to encourage learning and refine techniques. Practical lessons will consist of a complete demonstration of the drill followed by a demonstration of the learning stages to ensure students assimilate the instruction. The instructor cadre will explain each stage of the demonstration to reinforce teaching points followed by student practice of the techniques. The course will include two nights dedicated to low light shooting. Students will learn methods of employing the weapon-mounted flashlight during advanced training on the square range that is designed to reinforce techniques taught throughout the day. Students will be assessed on their ability to conduct two-man live fire clearances under low light conditions. Students will be constantly assessed and coached throughout the course in the following areas: safety, teamwork, leadership and individual skills on the range and in the shoothouse. Students should be prepared to work extended hours in order to meet the course learning objectives. Each student will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course. Students must arrive with the primary weapon already zeroed. The preferred zero for the primary weapon is as follows: a. M4 Carbine 50/200m b. Sub Machine Gun 25m POA/POI Those who enroll for this course will be send a complete course joining instruction that will detail course administrative requirements. Students should arrive with all necessary equipment as per the course instruction. All course participants should possess an open mind, be physically fit and maintain a positive attitude!

Requirements to attend this course: (There will be no exceptions.) 1. Military Personnel are required to submit a copy of their current military ID card together with the training application. 2. Law Enforcement personnel are required to submit a copy of their current LE credentials together with the training application 3. Government Security Contractors are to show proof of a valid passport or CAC card on day 1 of training or provide an official letter of recommendation from their employer together with the training application. ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE COMPLETED A TACTICAL WEAPONS TRAINING COURSE OR EQUIVELENT AT THEIR DEPARTMENT OR UNIT AND BE QUALIFIED AND CURRENT IN THE FOLLOWING WEAPONS. 1. SERVICE OR DUTY PISTOL 2. ANNEX B TO 2012/1001 04 OCT 2012 COURSE ELEMENTS OF COMPETENCY 1. The following list shows the elements of competency for the 3-Day CQB OSC Course. 1. Demonstrate weapons handling proficiency. 2. Complete live fire weapons proficiency validation (IAW RB1 requirements.) 3. Display situational awareness as an assault team member. 4. Demonstrate leadership within a tactical environment. 5. Employ close quarters battle OSC room combat techniques. 6. Participate in live fire multi-room combat practice as part of an assault team. 7. Conduct tactical operations in a darkened environment, 8. Employ manual MOE barrier penetration techniques, 9. Communicate effectively as a team member, 10. Assist in tactical operational planning and intelligence gathering, 11. Apply IPE and PPE in a timely fashion. 2. The elements of competency for this course are considered Level 1. The trainee has been introduced to the fundamentals in the skill and has been designed to provide the trainee with basic knowledge only.

Personal Weapons 2. Primary and secondary weapons should be department/ unit issued. Pistol can be department issue or personal weapon. All weapons should be serviceable and in good working order. Trainees should ensure that each weapon system is complete with at least three magazines. 3. Weapons can be rented through RB1 at trainees request. All department issue or personal weapons must be properly zeroed prior to arriving to the class. Body Armor 4. Students will be required to wear body armor and helmet throughout the training. Students will be permitted to wear SAPI or ESAPI plates only. Trainees who are not issued stand-alone strike plates must wear soft armor panels ICW front and rear strike plates. SAPI and ESAPI side plates are authorized. RB1 Directing Staff Instructors will inspect all IPE prior to the commencement of the course. Please note the following standards IAW RB1 safety policy for Individual Protective Equipment (body armor). a. Soft Panels. Must be current in-date soft armor panels that meet or exceed NIJ Level IIIA. b. Strike Plates. Must be current in-date Level III ICW or Level IV SAPI or ESAPI front and rear plates. Ballistic Helmet 5. Must meet or exceed NIJ Level IIIA.

Flashlights 6. Both primary and secondary weapons must have a flashlight mounted and capable of producing 80 lumens or better. Switches must be configured to facilitate operation using the strong and support hand. A SureFire flashlight or equivalent is recommended. Dont forget spare batteries! Ammunition 7. Trainees will be required to attend the course with ammunition that complies with the training facility limitations. All primary weapon ammunition should be frangible or ball in nature.

The following ammunition natures should not be brought to the training site: a. penetrator ammunition including; (1) (2) (3) b. c. SS109, M855, M855A1,

armor piecing ammunition such as M995 AP, or M856 Tracer.

9. All ammunition can be purchased through RB1 at trainees request. Trainees should arrive with the following amounts of ammunition for each weapon: a. b. c. Primary weapons - 500 rounds, Secondary weapons 200 rounds, Simunition - 100 rounds.

Personal Protective Ensemble (PPE) 10. PPE will consist of standard issue military fatigues or SWAT/duty uniform (Twopiece or flight suit). Each student will require full-length pants, long sleeves, gloves, flashhood, industry rated eye and ear protection and a pair of sturdy boots. Course Cost 11. The cost of the course includes all tuition and range fees for one student. Units/ departments that want to send personnel to this course should advise the RB1 Sales & Training Coordinator. A quote specific for your unit/ department will be sent to you. 12. Cost - $875.00

ANNEX D TO 2012/1001 04 OCT 2012 TRAINEE PISTOL SHOOTING STANDARDS Preamble: The following shooting standards have been designed to prepare students for advanced combat training with Redback One. These standards will serve as Go/No Go for enrollment to RB1 advanced combat training. Students should strive for 100% speed and accuracy, however the entry standard will be 80%. These standards will be conducted 'Cold and on Demand' on day 1 of all RB1 Advanced Combat Training. Failure to meet these standards may result in removal from the course. THESE SHOOTING STANDARDS ARE PROPRIETARY PROPERTY USED FOR RB1 TRAINING PURPOSES. (If you wish to share these standards, please ensure that RB1 is given appropriate recognition for its design.) Instructions: 1. All strings are shot from the ready positions detailed in each serial. 2. Distance: as per requirements detailed in each serial. 3. Target: RB1 silhouette (preferred, see picture below for options). 4. Scoring zones: 6 head box, 8 chest circle & 6 pelvis box. 5. Total score possible: 65 points 6. Passing score: 53 points Scoring the target: 1. Each round in scoring zone = 1 point 2. Each round outside scoring zone = 0 points 3. Rounds fired after time limit = 0 points Ready Positions: All drills are fired from the holster.

These standards will serve as Go/No Go for enrollment to RB1 advanced combat training. Students should strive for 100% speed and accuracy, however the entry standard will be 80%. These standards will be conducted 'Cold and on Demand' on day 1 of all RB1 Advanced Combat Training. Failure to meet these standards may result in removal from the course. THESE SHOOTING STANDARDS ARE PROPRIETARY PROPERTY USED FOR RB1 TRAINING PURPOSES. Instructions: 7. All strings are shot from the ready positions detailed in each serial. 8. Distance: as per requirements detailed in each serial. 9. Target: RB1 silhouette (preferred, see picture below for options). 10. Scoring zones: head box & A zone as detailed, 8 chest circle. 11. Total score possible: 80 points 12. Passing score: 64 points Scoring the target: 4. Each round in scoring zone = 1 point 5. Each round outside scoring zone = 0 points 6. Rounds fired after time limit = 0 points Ready Positions: Alert Ready. The weapon will be held so that the muzzle is oriented 3 in front of the shooters feet. The butt stock is in the shoulder pocket, and the weapon will be on safe. High Ready. The weapon will angled diagonally across the body, the optic or rear sight assembly will be touching the shooters chest, the butt-stock will be under the arm, the barrel will be underneath head height and the weapon will be on safe.
