    Figurative Language

    -Simile -Metaphor -Personification

    1. SIMILE
    Use like and as in comparing. Examples: 1. Her skin is as white as snow 2. The tree is like a mountain.

    2. Metaphor
    Comparing things without the use of as and like. Examples: 1. Her eyes are two bright diamonds. 2. Our home is a playground where any child can enjoy.

    3. PERSONIFICATION
    Gives inanimate object human traits and qualities. Examples: 1. The sun kissed my cheeks while I was dozing near the lake. 2. All night, the wind sang a mighty song.
