Qatar

The dynastic Muslim monarch of Qatar inclines the curiosity what exactly it is and who leads the country. My choice of this country was based upon the low radar that it yields. Qatar is rarely mentioned on a regular basis. What also caught my attention of Qatar were the flag and the name. Qatar is an Emirate absolute monarchy. Emirate is a dynastic Muslim monarch. This monarch is ruled by the Al-Thani family. The Al-Thani family took control in the 1800. The current leader is Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. He took control on June 26, 1995. Hamad was born in 1952 and originally studied in Qatar then attended Sandhurst Military Academy in England. He was in charge of optimizing the military in Qatar. Hamad represents Qatar on official state visits. He acts as leader and diplomat which earned him many honors. The United States and Qatar have a pretty good stand on foreign policy. Qatar is a friend to the United States. Qatar is an important player in the Middle East for the U.S. there are many American military bases that are settled in Qatar. Qatar was an early an early member of OPEC, with its oil distributions, Qatar also belongs to the Gulf Cooperation Council. The economy of Qatar is doing well. The fiscal year is from April 1 to March 31. Qatar has a high GDP growth. They protect the banking sectors with direct investments and domestic banks. The GDP growth rate is 18.7. The main exports are liquefied natural gas, petroleum products, fertilizer, and steel. Qatar exports these items to Japan, South Korea, India, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. The main imports include Machinery and transport, equipment, food,

and chemicals. Qatar imports these items from the United States, Germany, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Italy, France, and China. The Qatari flag is maroon and white with sharp, rigid edges. The maroon color is the loss of lives in the battles and conflicts that Qatar went through. The white is the global harmony among most countries. The nine point saw teeth represent the ninth member of Emirates of the Persian Gulf following the end of the pact between Great Britain and Qatar in 1916. This flag is not to be confused with the Bahrain flag.
