Basketball Contract
Participation in extracurricular activities is a privilege. Student-athletes as members of the Willowridge Basketball team will be required to maintain college level standards with regard to their grades, classroom behavior, and performance on the court. The following expectations are designed to help student-athletes prepare for college. By signing this contract, student-athletes and parents acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions for participation in the basketball program at Willowridge High School. As a student-athlete you represent your school and your community. You must take this responsibility seriously. Only your very best will be acceptable! 1. I will maintain a 75 or better grade average in all classes. I will attend tutorials for any class that is below 75. I will register with the NCAA Clearinghouse before completion of my sophomore year. 2. I will adhere to all school rules and abide by the student code of conduct; especially dress code. 3. I will be on time to all my classes and I will be on time to practice and all other team functions. I will not skip class for any reason. I accept the responsibility of being a student-athlete. 4. I will be a great teammate and I will have a positive impact on the atmosphere surrounding this program. I will work on my game outside regular practice time. I will improve daily. 5. I will accept the criticism of my coaches with a positive attitude. I will be a coachable player. 6. I will conduct myself like a gentleman at all times and especially while in class, between classes or while representing Willowridge High School as a member of the basketball team. 7. I will give maximum effort in every competitive situation. I will not let my teammates down. 8. I will encourage my teammates and remain positive before, during and after the game win or lose. I will not blame others and I will not make excuses for poor performance. 9. I will seek the advice of my coaches, parents, teachers or other adults if I have any problems that may affect my performance as a student or athlete. I will communicate openly and honestly. 10. I will not do anything that will reflect negatively on my team, Willowridge High School or my family and community. I will be a good citizen. I will be a winner on and off the court.
