Mtra. Karina Amador Soriano Head of the Technical Department University of Quintana Roo I am writing to apply for the position of teacher of English for the autumn term, should there be any available at this time. I am currently working as a peripatetic teacher of English and French in public high schools where I initially gained experience prior to my graduating since February, 2011 to date. During this time, I completed successfully an apprenticeship to enhance my competence as a teacher. My duties also included designing reference material under the competency-based educational approach. Alternatively, I have been working as a tourist information clerk for the Foundation of Parks and Museums of Cozumel since 2000. My qualifications include a bachelor honours degree in English Language Teaching for my thesis Vocabulary Learning Strategies for the SL and FL Learners which is in the process of being issued by this institution. Having studied at this university has given me an insight into the teaching methodologies as well as the values and educational approaches to which this university adheres, whereupon you might regard me as a potential candidate. Similarly, I am also due to sit the international version of the CAE examination by Cambridge University, which is to be held in one weeks time in Cancun. My objective is to obtain a grade B. However, I am enclosing a copy of the home version usually offered to students as equivalent with a passing grade. In addition, I will be holding a diploma in July in teaching methodology, techniques, approaches and technological upgrading (PROFORDEMS) in connection with the competency approach required at preparatory level. This is a one-year course administered by the National Pedagogic University (UPN) in conjunction with Federal Government with the aim of improving the quality in teaching.
