Abstract The topic of subliminal messages influence on ones mind is controversial.

While some social psychologists (Pratkanis 1992) argue that only in rare circumstances will it affect ones decisions, others argue that much of the studies done and empirical statistics support the existence of subliminal persuasion (Epley, Savitsky, Kachelski 1999). Revolving around various experiments and tests, this paper will look at how subliminal messaging is proven to be much more effective when used in an area related to the message, and during different circumstances. Throughout this paper, it will be revealed that theres still a great need for more scientific study, and future research will certainly help and expand the understanding of effects and influences that subliminal messaging have on us.
