Spreadsheet is an interactive computer application program that lets you organize your data easily, and neatly. Spreadsheets were first invented for the use of accounting for business, math calculations and can be used to convert numbers into a graph form. An example is that you can see your annual salary every month/year. Computer spreadsheets were first invented by Professor Richard Mattessich. Positive Excel is really easy to use especially when you are to make mistakes if you change the numbers the sum changes automatically. It can change all type of numbered information into a pie, bar, or a line graph. We are able to add text boxes to memo down any separate piece of data or information Negative Spreadsheets are often not very scalable for accessing and manipulating large volumes of data. If you make an error in your formula, every single calculation done on that spreadsheet will be wrong. Requires a large amount of hard-drive space for data storage. If you are not familiar with spreadsheets, it can take a long time to adjust to all the formulas, which is very hard. Timeline

Usage in society Now computerized spreadsheets are used to organize their data and used to record companys income, loss and accounting. It is also used by a person who wants to keep track of their use of money like housewives. It is also said that some teachers use spreadsheets to keep track of the grades they are giving out to students. 2Questions How has spreadsheets changed the course of our living style?

What is the problem and how does it relates to the AOI? The problem is that we are living in a very technological life and we have lots and lots of things to take care of and we sometimes we fail to check. Failing our units and getting a poor mark so we need to make a spreadsheet of our subjects and units to check if we have done all the things; I think it connects to the AOI Organization and Reflection. I think It falls into that category because using excel we can organize our unit and subject grades and from there we can reflect to see where we need to improve on.
What is a spread sheet? How was it developed why would we use it? Spreadsheet is an interactive computer application program that lets you organize your data easily, and neatly. Spreadsheets were first invented for the use of accounting for business, math calculations and can be used to convert numbers into a graph form. It was developed by Professor Richard Mattessich, he developed in order to help organize accounting and to make it easier. How are MYP grades different from local school grades? MYP grades have a criterion with lots of different task indicators and not only have they looked at test results they also look at attitude, reflection, presentation and many more. Also MYP grades are out of 7 for our final grades. However in local schools they only look at 1 main thing test results; as long as your test result is good in the local school you will get high mark and in local schools they dont ask for any reflection which makes things easier. Locals schools also doesnt have any criteria for example in MYP in math there is Knowledge and Understanding out of 8 and Communication out of 6 but in local schools the test is out of 100 and doesnt require any communication grades. What formula will be needed and how to construct these? For this excel we will be needing auto sum and count if to convert our grades correctly. Auto sum can be easily used by dragging the boxes you want to select and clicking on auto sum. Count if is very complicated to use. How is MYP criteria score changed into a 7? They add all the grades you get for each individual criterion then they see if the sum reaches a certain point (number) they will decide if you get a 0,1,2,3,4,5,6 or a 7. In MYP 7 is the highest grade. Research the Unit Question (Can technology affect my learning?) Internet- 90% of students in college say that by using technology they could save a lot of time then to write it down on a piece of paper. Its easier to organize and it is much neater than writing it with a pencil or a pen. Also a lot of the works are based on technology such as using the internet, emailing experts, and etc. Teacher- Yes technology would affect learning because all the works is easier on computer. Making graphs take ages and years and people with bad hand skills are bad at making it but in power point graph maker or in excel you could make it in 10minutes. Also all the researching work we need technology. In this age of time it would be impossible to learn without technology thats why people are way smarter than before because we have technology.

Parents- Technology is helping a lot on learning because it is fast and simple. Like me I can type a lot in a short amount of time but writing takes a long time. Besides programs like word they spell and grammar check for you and its easier to write essays for school but most kids get tempted to play games on computer while they are working so it also has a negative influence also it hurts the eyes so its not good to be on the computer working for too long. Is the source reliable? http://www.edudemic.com/2012/08/new-study-finds-11-real-ways-technology-is-affecting-educationright-now/ Lepi, Katie. "11 Real Ways Technology Is Affecting Education Right Now." Edudemic. Edudemic, 30 Aug. 2012. Web. 05 Sept. 2013. The source is very reliable because its a website where authors or teachers come and write things. Also it is an educational website so I highly trust the website. My design brief I am going to create 2 different types of design for my excel spreadsheet to organize my school year grades and criterion grades for each unit and subject. I am going to make a table so I can see what I need for my design specs. Design specs 8 units for each subject All subjects of MYP Each criterion for each subjects Marks of the each criterion Different colors for each subject 2 different designs Neat designs Easy to use and to see

Testing Method To test my product I will ask 3 of my friends to test my spreadsheet by asking them to insert numbers on my spreadsheet and seeing if it works. If it doesnt I will make changes and if it works I will ask them for any other advice that they would recommend for my spreadsheet. I will have a feedback form ready so when it is time to test my product (spreadsheet) I can ask 3 of my friends to just fill in the form so it will be easier for me and my friends. MYP Criteria for every subject: Math: Criteria A- Knowledge and Understanding Criteria B- Investigate Patterns Criteria C- Communications in Mathematics Criteria D- Reflections in Mathematics Language A: Criteria A- Content Criteria B- Organization Criteria C- Style and Language mechanics
