March 30, 2012 To Whom It May Concern, It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation on behalf

of Tara Kosinski, our current school counselor/psychologist. Because Tara is such a qualified professional and valuable colleague, we are very sorry that she has decided to return to the United States at the end of this year. I have known Tara since August 2010, as Director of the Lower School, and during this time have been able to directly witness her expertise in school psychology, counseling, and leadership skills. Tara is a very mature professional. Throughout the two years she has been here, she has very successfully led our Student Support Team in developing and implementing positive behavioral and academic support systems for students, working effectively and collaboratively with all parties concerned. Tara recognizes the strong connections between academic challenges and behavioral needs, has excellent diagnostic skills, and clearly conveys her understanding of students educational needs to teachers and parents. Tara is a great listener and question asker which has helped her to quickly build strong, trusting relationships with students, teachers and parents. She has worked successfully with students individually, in small groups and in whole classes. I am always surprised at her ability to name all of our almost 400 students given our high rate of turnover each year. As well as the assistance she gives teachers in her role as leader of the SST, Tara is often consulted informally by individuals for advice. Tara offers ideas in such a clear and calm well maybe we could try way that teachers, parents and students easily accept of her ideas. She has assisted many of our teachers and parents in choosing the right attainable goals and interventions for specific students. Tara has shown that she is unflappable, working effectively with the most challenging students, teachers, and parents, and making excellent decisions after deliberation or on the fly. Tara is responsible, hardworking and organized, maximizing her days to get a myriad of tasks done, from contacting parents and teachers, visiting classrooms, analyzing testing scores, and completing concise reports and minutes of meetings, to running several student lunch bunches in a row, giving a class lesson, and carrying out daily supervision duties. She is also always ready to do more. Since she has been here, Tara has created several excellent presentations for parents explaining child development, setting limits with children, and standardized testing. Tara is strongly recommended for any challenging and demanding job as a school psychologist. We will greatly miss her! Sincerely,

Faraday de la Camara Lower School Director The American School of Madrid
