Aim of this activity: The aim of this activity is for you to interview students/pupils. In the dialogue, you will ask for experiences and insights of their learning especially when instructional materials are utilized. After the interview, you will compile all the learning episodes and accomplish the group processing activity.

INTERVIEW Elementary

1. Ask the student of her favorite subject in school and inquire who her/his teacher is in the subject. a. What is your favorite subject in school? Who is your teacher in this subject? My favorite subject is Filipino under Ms. Merlyn Permilan. 2. Let her/him describe how her/his teacher instructs the subject. a. Describe how teacher A instructs/handles the subject? She is very enthusiast during our classes, a little bit strict when it comes to projects and in our discussion she gives us lots of examples. 3. Make inquiries if the teacher uses instructional materials and how the students find these instructional materials in facilitating their learning of the subject. a. Does teacher A use instructional materials (flip charts, flash cards, diagrams, realia, etc) in teaching? Yes, like visuals written on a manila paper and cartolina. b. Are these materials helpful? Why? Yes! They are helpful to me; it makes the lesson easy to understand. 4. Find out if there are classes in their school that do not use instructional materials. How do they find these classes (as in engaging, interesting, etc)? a. Are there subjects that do not use instructional materials? I think it is my teacher in Hekasi. She always discusses and rarely uses the writing board. b. How do you find these classes? Its just easy to comprehend but sometimes I find it boring.

c. What materials can the teacher explore and use in order to improve the learning process? (for College students only) 5. Finally, ask if they see if instructional materials are important for learning and studying. a. Are instructional materials important for studying? for learning? Yes, they are. They serve as my references and it makes note taking easier for me. b. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using such materials in learning Advantages, is that I can easily take note, less mistakes. I dont see any disadvantages.

My favorite subject is ICT under Ms. Jacqueline C. Maghanoy. 2. Let her/him describe how her/his teacher instructs the subject. a. Describe how teacher A instructs/handles the subject? She uses a lot of visual iads l;ike her netbook. She also gives a lot of interesting activities. 3. Make inquiries if the teacher uses instructional materials and how the students find these instructional materials in facilitating their learning of the subject. a. Does teacher A use instructional materials (flip charts, flash cards, diagrams, realia, etc) in teaching? Yes,flip charts and her netbook because we rarely use the lab. b. Are these materials helpful? Why? Yes! They are helpful to me; I can easily understand the lesson about computer especially when my teacher uses charts and provides us handouts. 4. Find out if there are classes in their school that do not use instructional materials. How do they find these classes (as in engaging, interesting, etc)? a. Are there subjects that do not use instructional materials? All of the teachers in our school use IMs. b. How do you find these classes? It promotes interactive learning. c. What materials can the teacher explore and use in order to improve the learning process? (for College students only) 5. Finally, ask if they see if instructional materials are important for learning and studying. a. Are instructional materials important for studying? for learning? Yes, especially on hands on learning. It helps us recognize a certain material easily. b. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using such materials in learning I can easily keep track of the lesson and remember it easily but it also makes us students to only rely on our teacher because we dont do reporting anymore.

My favorite subject is Science under Mr. Jonathan.. 2. Let her/him describe how her/his teacher instructs the subject. a. Describe how teacher A instructs/handles the subject? He makes learning fun and interesting. He uses different types of Instructional Materials and examples that make our minds work but he is strict. He always see to it that his students really understand. 3. Make inquiries if the teacher uses instructional materials and how the students find these instructional materials in facilitating their learning of the subject. a. Does teacher A use instructional materials (flip charts, flash cards, diagrams, realia, etc) in teaching? Yes, like movies and video clips that are according to our lessons. b. Are these materials helpful? Why? Yes! It makes learning not boring and makes my imagination work so fast and I easily understand scientific concepts. 4. Find out if there are classes in their school that do not use instructional materials. How do they find these classes (as in engaging, interesting, etc)? a. Are there subjects that do not use instructional materials? All of our teachers use IMs it just vary on the types and how they implent it to our classes. b. How do you find these classes? It is really mind provoking as I have observed. c. What materials can the teacher explore and use in order to improve the learning process? (for College students only) Maybe, he can make use of some reliable websites in order to give our class more examples of the concepts that he teaches to us.. 5. Finally, ask if they see if instructional materials are important for learning and studying. a. Are instructional materials important for studying? for learning? Yes, it makes our attention span extend and helps us focus. b. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using such materials in learning It makes us relate our lessons to real life situation and also makes us learn some values especially on the importance of life but some of my classmates just take it for granted, they just tend to watch and forget without understanding.

Technology advances from time to time, So fast, I dont even notice it. People are trying to cope up just to fit in. From computers to laptops, to netbooks, MacBooks, tabs, etc,. Those were never been mine, Have you? I only knew them at school. Sad to say there numbers werent enough to accommodate my fellow students. But as I realized, its not really important to own one, what matter is that I know HOW.
