Next Week

Bible: We will talk about Gods promise to Abraham to give him the gift of a child, baby Isaac. We will also discuss how babies can be gifts from God. Math: We will take our Chapter 1 test and will be starting Chapter 2 which focuses on patterning and graphing. We will be focusing mostly on patterning next week. Please look for your childs test in their folder next week. Science: We will continue learning about animal homes. Social Studies: We will discuss homes around the world and what is the same/different between them. Reading: Our story will be Miss Bindergarten Takes a Field Trip. Our comprehension skill will be classifying and categorizing. We will also read books about leaves. Handwriting We will continue practicing proper pencil grip, writing our first names, as well as writing the letters Ll and Hh.

Other Important Information

Mrs. Willis will continue to work with students (doing the SEARCH testing). It will take her several weeks to get to all of the Kindergartners. We have been working on writing our first names using upper case for the first letter and lower case for the rest. Please also work on this at home. I had a wonderful time at our Fall Tea this week. I loved the opportunity to talk with those of you who attended. Thank you so much to Louise Bedsworth for all the preparation that went into it. There will be an informational meeting on Monday, October 7 from 7:00-8:15 pm regarding the WCGS Teach program and supplemental handwriting support/instruction if you are interested to know more.
