Since tennis requires alertness and tactical thinking, it may generate new connections between nerves in the brain and promote a lifetime of continuing development of the brain, reported scientists at the University of Illinois. Tennis outperforms golf and most other sports in developing positive personality characteristics, according to Dr. Jim Gavin, author of "The Exercise Habit." Competitive tennis burns more calories than aerobics or cycling, according to studies in caloric expenditures.

Presidential Fitness ROUND 2


On Friday September 20th we completed our second round of Presidential Fitness testing. The improvements were amazing. Students have increased their ability to do push ups, sits ups, their speed and agility in the shuttle run. However the biggest improvements shined through during the timed mile run. Student ran between 1and 2 minutes faster than their previous recorded times. Congratulations to all in your quest to be fit to play for life.

iPods are a great way to engage students in physical education today. This devices will be used in physical education and coaching to inspire students to exercise and enhance performance. Whether using apps, self created activities, or QR codes, real practical ideas for iOS devices will take PE classes to another level to enrich the experiences of students today. .

shown up to class each day with a great energy and enthusiasm for fitness. Without a single absence she has completed over 1,000 sit-up and 500 Squats and the last 5 weeks.

incredible competitive spirit to class each day. However his ability to include every student and meet them where theyre at in their own skill level is to be commended.

Definitely is a force to be reckoned with in class as he has improved his fitness level in all areas. He shows a genuine interest in growing to be fit to play for the rest of his life. PE has been music to her ears. This dancer picks up each content so quickly due to her natural athletic background from dance. She is competitive and up for any challenge set before her.

Proves to be a pleasure to have in class as he works extremely hard each day. He always brings a laugh to the class as he is quick to turn a difficult task into a positive experience.

Is not just your average girl..She stood out to all of her classmates as just dominated the field with lightening quick hands on defense during the capture the flag and flag football units.

Bayli Czarnecki period 6


Has been able to accomplish so much in such a short time. Watching her confidence grow with each day and each unit has been a joy. She is to be commended on her efforts and improvement.

Austin Kneeper Period 6


Can be very proud of the strides that he has made athletically in PE. He has improved in each area of the fitness content and was a dominate force in flag football. We wish him a speedy recovery from his knee injury.
