r. Ajay Kumar had just finished a section from the book, Living with the Himalayan Masters by Swami Rama. I posed him a question: Ajay, suppose you took the page numbers of the section you read and added them together. What would you get? Ajay summed them rather hastily and said, Well, I may have to double-check my arithmetic. Its either 412 or 512, Im not sure. Dear Students, can you help me to find the continuous page number he had just read. Also tell me why the other number cannot be the sum of continuous page numbers. Can you find these solutions (i) By trial and error method. (Personally I dont like this name. I prefer to call it as trial and success method, but few dont accept) (ii) Can you solve it mathematically? (iii) (iv) Can you solve it using a computer? Can you give an idea, method, algorithm, flow chart, pseudo code or code?
