ANSWERING TECHNIQUES FOR PHYSICS PAPER 3 SECTION A Question 1 (taking reading, tabulation and drawing graph): 1) All the

reading taken must in correct decimal point and consistent. 2) Graph must have: a) Correct quantities (symbol) and their unit on both axes. b) Uniform scale at both axes. (do not use odd scales! Example of odd scale: 2 cm represent 7 unit) c) Points plotted correctly d) Balance graph line e) Use at least of the graph paper. 3) Conclusion base on the graph:

y is directly proportional to x

y is decreases linearly to x

y is inversely proportional to x

y is linearly proportional to x

Question 2 (analysing graph): 1) Understanding the meaning for various shapes of graphs and their characteristics based on yaxis and x-axis. 2) The meaning of graphs gradient based on graph shape and axis. 3) Draw a LARGE triangle to calculate the gradient. The triangle should be drawn under the graph. 4) WRITE THE UNIT OF THE GRADIENT CALCULATED.

NOTE: 1. MV = manipulated variable, RV = responding variable, CV = Constant variable. 2. MUST WRITE SYMBOL for MV and RV when stating variables, tabulating data and analysis. 3. MUST WRITE SYMBOL and UNIT for MV and RV when tabulating data and analysis.
