Michael Carter Jr. is Featured Musician at VIP Event

The promising young musician, Michael Carter Jr., age 14, will be the featured musician for the
Brownbody Repertory Companys Waiting For You pre-concert reception on Friday, September 6 at 6:00 pm-7:00 pm. The event will be held at the Charles M. Schultz Highland Arena Complex in St. Paul, MN. The Afro modern dance and figure skating fusion concert produced by Brownbody will follow the reception at 7:30 pm. Waiting For You is a cultural education project that illuminates the negative impressions a destructive cultural history can leave on an individuals mind, heart and soul, says Deneane Richburg, performer and creator of the Brownbody Repertory Company. Toni Morrisons Pulitzer-prize winning novel, Beloved, lays the foundation for the feature duet of this performance. This work combines modern dance, figure skating and theater to creatively tell a story, she continued.

Michael Jr. will be accompanied by the incomparable saxophonist, Willie Moore. They will play songs from his recent debut CD, The Future, and other music selections. The Future cd is available online at www.michaelcarterjr.com. -MORE-
