Scope The communication with the PWS3.3 happens via an Ethernet connection. This document describes the three different modes the unit can be configured and how CALSOFT needs set for establishing the connection. Caution! Please get in contact with your system administrator before connecting the PWS3.3 to a computer network ! Choosing the wrong connection mode may causes network problems.
Basics The PWS3.3 needs an address. This address has to be entered later in CALSOFT. The address consists of two parts: Internet-Protocol-Address (IP-Address) User-Datagram-Protocol-Port Number (UDP-Port Number)
Ethernet Connection possibilities of the PWS3.3 The Ethernet configuration is called via the general settings screen:
Ethernet configuration

In that mode except of the UDP definition no other settings are needed.
Page 3 / 5 November 24, 2008 V1 / Ethernet Configuration for CALSOFT and PWS3.3 The PWS3.3 is acting as DNS Server and provides the IP-address for a PC/Notebook. The PWS3.3 can handle up to 10 addresses. The PWS3.3s own address, mask and gateway has to be set manually (see below c)).
b)

A User Datagram Protocol (UDP) number (also called port number) is necessary in all three modes.
