Students will be able to:
Explain by their own word what is Themes, Settings, Characters, Plot and Symbolism. Improve listening skills by reading and listening to a story.
Presentation of the lesson: Show the student an short story. Discuss the elements of that story. Students will try to identify where the elements of fiction located in the story A Letter to God. Students have their individual work and ask to create a diagram of elements of fiction. Students will do the following task: Student will be choosing a story and try to identify the elements of fiction in that story. Students put their answers in their blog and post their answer in our website. Students will be graded according to the rubric below: Poor (50%) Organi zation (45 points) There was no clear organizati onal structure. Fair (70%) Content is logically organized for the most part. Good (80%) Uses headings or bulleted lists to organize. Excellent (100%) Contents are well organized and follow the instruction.
5.Evaluation/Assessment
Includes essential information but there are 1-2 factual errors. Has difficulty representin g concepts visually.
Unable to create and interpret diagram. Is unable to understan d the visual concepts.
Can make a good visual concepts but there is some errors in use of diagram.
6.Assignment
Students will create a reflection using Google document on how they understand the elements of fiction. Students will share their reflections to their classmates. Teacher will show an interactive story. Students need to listen and understand the story. Teacher will discuss the said topic the Elements of Fiction. The students try to identify where the elements located in the story showed. The graded assessment for the student will be posted. All gathered information should be presented. Students will be graded according to rubric.
