OBSERVATION STUDY OF OBEDIENCE NURSES TO DO HAND WASHING ON NURSING ACTION IN THE HOSPITAL PRINGSEWU DISTRICT LAMPUNG INDONESIA 2012

ABSTRACT Handwashing is one of the factors that have a big Influence on health in the prevention of spread of infection. Nurses have a big influence because nurses interact directly with the patients for 24 hours. Purpose of this study to know description about nurses obedience to do hand washing in the hospital at district pringsewu lampung. This study uses Descriptive Survey, the sampling technique used was accidental sampling with 49 Respondents from 188 of population. Data collection Method using direct observation with checklist. The Results of this study that nurses obedience to hand washing before nursing action is high about 43 Respondents (87.8%). And nurses who are obedient to do hand washing before nursing action as 6 Respondents (12.2%). While nurses are not obedient to do hand washing after nursing action about 32 Respondents (65.3%). And nurses who are obedient to do hand washing after nursing action only 17 Respondents (34.7%). The Results of this study that nurses obedience to do hand washing before and after nursing action is still very low. Key word: hand washing, obedience nurses
