DATUM FEATURES

PLANES, POINTS, AXIS, CURVES, CO-ORDINATE SYSTEM.

DATUM FEATURES

Datum Features are not having the mass properties but it is used to give the reference.

DATUM PLANE

To create a plane it is compulsory that min 3 points are required or max 4 points.

Datum planes on default plane or planer surface


Through : Datum plane on planer surface. Offset : Datum plane with specified offset distance. Parallel : Specify point with CTRL. Normal : Select planer surface and then specify Normal plane and point with CTRL.

On Curved surface
Through : select surface and point with CTRL, Plane passes through center. Tangent : select surface, select tangent and select point with CTRL.

Angular planes
Select Edge and Plane/Planer surface with CTRL (Hinge support) Select Axis and reference plane with CTRL (Hinge support)

Other options

Combination of Two EDGES.

Combination of 3 POINTS with CTRL.

DATUM POINTS
Simple Point : On Edge or on Curve. Sketched Point : On sketcher plane only. Offset Co-ordinate Point : Create file for

points applying co-ordinate system.


Field Datum Point : On plane or on Edge.

DATUM AXIS
With Two Points. With Two Planes.

OFFSET CO-ORDINATE SYSTEM


Fly out Embedded When we use a new feature inside any feature called embedded feature.
