Tourist Types
On any given holiday there will be a wide range of different tourist types. Brainstorm in your groups to come up with as many as you can think of.
Now choose FI E different types and use these spider diagrams to brainstorm the characteristics you would expect your five types of tourists to have e.g. wealth, transport, activities, food, time of year to go,
This section will provide a detailed background on both Paris and isney !orld, Orlando. Paris is a ma"or city and isney !orld is a purpose built destination so they will be very contrasting.
#ou need to use a series of maps to describe their location. These maps need to be annotated and re$eren#ed go alongside a short written description of what the map is showing. To get top marks you need to use a range of different sources$not "ust the internet% The following maps are needed$

Events and Festivals This includes festivals and events that have happened in the very recent past or are due to happen in the future. These can cover a wide range of examples such as sport, music, food, celebration etc. #ou need to ensure you pick out individual festivals or events or time of the year to take part in these activities and suggest which tourists these might suit. Entertainment This is a wide ranging category that could include anything that is linked to leisure activities such as the theatre, shopping, nightlife, theme parks etc. #ou need to ensure you pick out individual areas or places to take part in these activities and suggest which tourists these might suit. #ou must also examine the >8uture Popularity? of the destination. 6n this section you will examine whether you believe the destination will remain popular or not by looking at how you think it will be respond to a number of factors such as, recession, exchange rates, terrorism, natural disasters, transport options, price, environmental impacts on flight availability, competition from other destinations, will the destination still be fashionable and any others you can think of.
#ou need to evaluate at least five different factors and back this up by finding evidence to support your viewpoint. ,ach factor should be * or / paragraphs and include statistics, graphs and charts. :ook at data and the pattern of visitors and try and draw conclusions about what will happen over the next few years.
