He has had over 7 albums and sold over 220 million records. He has 13 Grammys and the first rapper with an Academy Award. He isnt close to his mother and divorced his wife twice whom they had a child with (Haile). He has adopted two daughters Alaina and Whitney. He also has done drugs but is now sober. In his songs he usually talks about the misery and regrets that he has gone in his life. Its not all rainbows and sunshines for him no matter how successful has been. so he often got beaten up by the kids. He was divorced twice by his wife, Kim. So Eminem is not as happy as people perceive him to be. Perception: Many people perceive him to be homophobic. In his latest song titled Rapgod he uses the word gay kind of like an insult. He often uses words like queer and faggots in many of his rap songs. Reality: Eminem does not hate gay people. He said that he uses these words as derogatory in general and not implicitly singled towards homosexuals. He even said I think if two people love each other, then what the hell? He is even a good friend of gay singer Elton John. Words like faggot was thrown around so many times in rap battles so he uses that word in battling his opponent rappers and not as an insult to gay people. Perception: People think that Eminem is a bad father because he is a rapper and rappers usually have a bad behavior and are immature. He used to do drugs and was divorced twice. He uses explicit language in his songs. Eminem was raised in a bad way and people think that he does not know how to raise children due to that. Reality: Eminem is a loving father. He loves his daughter so much that the day when he won the Grammy award for the best hip hop single Lose Yourself, he was in his house watching cartoons with his daughter Hailie. He does not allow swearing in his house and has never even said anything abusive to his daughter. Perception: People think Eminem is greedy and spends all the money he earns. He does not donate any money and uses it for his personal means.

Reality: Eminem is a part of three charity organizations which are Eight Mile Boulevard Association, Marshal Mathers Foundation and ninemillion.org. He donated money to a family of 6 year old girl who got a kidney transplant. He donates money to disadvantaged youths, education for children and so on. So he is not greedy but a generous person. Perception: Some people think that Eminem, like all rappers, raps about money, women etc. and his songs are meaningless. Reality: Eminem has only a few songs which are about money and women. Most of his songs are about the struggles he faced in life. His song Lose Yourself motivates people to grab hold of every opportunity they find and believe in themselves and his songs are sincere and have more meaning than any other rap songs. Connection to Macbeth: Eminem is like Malcolm, Malcom is perceived to be the murderer of his father Duncan because he runs away to England, but actually it is Macbeth that murdered Duncan. People automatically assumed it was him without checking any of the other possible suspects. In the end Malcolm is the hero and he is shown as the good guy.
