)a(k$round& Tuber)ulosis (TB) be)ome a national issue be)ause this disease is the third most deadly disease after heart disease and respiratory disease and the most deadly infe)tious disease. The aims of this study is to determine the )hara)teristi)s of adult pulmonary tuber)ulosis patients. %ethods& This resear)h was a des)ripti"e study using )ross0se)tional approa)h. This resear)h was )ondu)ted in the ward dr. Soedarso <eneral ;ospital Pontianak during September to !o"ember #$%$. &ata )olle)ted from '( patients that met the study )riteria. &ata were )olle)ted by >uestionnaire0based inter"iew method. Result& The in)iden)e of pulmonary TB was **.,- in the reprodu)ti"e age group. Pulmonary TB in)iden)e was /$- in men and '$- in women. ?du)ational ba)kground of the sample was still low with #/.*- of the sample were un0edu)ated+ #'.'elementary+ junior high #,.2-+ %*.,- senior high s)hool and only #.#)ollege4uni"ersity. So)ioe)onomi) le"el of ,'.'- sample was still low with in)ome less than Rp. *$(.$$$+0 per month. Type of pulmonary tuber)ulosis patients the most was new )ases as mu)h as /#.#-+ followed by )ases of relapse of #'.'- and %5.'- of )ases defaulted. !utritional status of most patients was poor+ ,$.$- subje)ts had B87 less than %,.( kg4m #. *on(lusion& Pulmonary TB is still dominated by people in reprodu)ti"e age with low so)ioe)onomi) le"els and poor nutritional status.
