    The ora and fauna of the mountain environment are a tough bunch. Many of them have to compete for survival in a cold environment with a thin atmosphere this means that they have to nd ingenious ways to survive. Some plants of the mountains have found ways to stop their bodies water freezing in the cold environment. One way they do this is by using a technique called freezing-point depression. Freezing-point depression is the addition of a solute to a solvent in this case the plants water stores to lower the freezing point. An example of this is adding salt to water. The fauna of the mountains have a tough life to they also have to come up with techniques for survival. The pika for example is a small rodent like animal in the mountains it has to move incredibly quickly all day long to prevent body

    Mountains are large landforms that rise above the surrounding area they are formed by movement of the earths tectonic crust. A mountain is generally considered to be a mountain at 300 m above sea level. Mountains are some of the most beautiful landscapes on earth but like a rose it has thorns.
