213211045 THE EFFECTIVENESS OF WARM COMPRESS AND COLD COMPRESS AGAINST FRONTAL AND AXILLA AREA ON FEVERISH PRESCHOOL AGED CHILDREN (3-6 YEARS), IN THE HOSPITAL WARDS OF RSIA HUMANA PRIMA BANDUNG 2013 viii + 79 pages + 7 tables + 3 charts + 10 attachments ABSTRACT Fever is a condition where a person's body temperature is too high. 1015% of children who were taken to the doctor are caused by fever. In the last 3 months,the cases of feverish children in RSIA Humana Prima Bandung were 109 cases in total. This study aims to determine the differences of the effectiveness between the warm compress and cold compress against frontal and axilla area on feverish preschool aged children (3-6 years), in the hospital wards of RSIA Humana Prima. This study used quasi-experimental method. The data were collected through incidental sampling technique, then it were analyzed by using Univariate and Bivariate analysis using T test with the number of respondents 24 children. The results of Univariate analysis are, the temperature gained after getting warm compress treatment is 37.92 in average, and the P values obtained is 0.020 (p < = 5%), the value of t is 2,500 and t table is 2.074 so (t > t table). These results mean that there is a significant difference on the temperature decreasing average between the warm compress (intervention group) and cold compress (control group)against frontal and axilla area on feverish preschool aged children (3-6 years), in the hospital wards of RSIA Humana Prima, 2013 The suggestion for RSIA Humana Prima is,warm compress can be considered as a treatment for fever on children.
