The Bugscope

Hovercraft project

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to freshman year Biology! I am as excited as you are, and I cannot wait to show you all the tricks and amazing facts of science life. From cells to insects to "potions" and freaky experiments, we will dive in the astonishing world of every wonder of this planet.

Have you ever wondered how your ladybug friend functions? You will soon find out, in our little scavenger hunt around the high school campus. In this exciting experiment, we will be collecting several insects local to our school, mail them 1000 miles away and have them analyzed by a group of professionals with fascinating microscopic tools.

If you love physics or just want to understand how a vehicle can travel on ground and water at the same time, do not worry, because the hovercraft project will be a fun and exciting experiment. Although we cannot ride our hovercrafts, you will be amazed to observe how little pieces of cardboard can be transformed into a moving vehicle with no more than four wires, two batteries and a simple fan.

Who am I?

Just a fancy word for: What am I going to do?

Our course syllabus is a great way to keep track of upcoming lessons, projects, due dates and anything that involves the classroom environment. Although commonly seen at the college level, it is vital that you accustom to this academic tool. In the syllabus you will find the classroom schedule, and any time I am free throughout the day to answer any questions. This is a great way to plan ahead, complete assignment or just organize your notebook.

How will you take care of your own neurons?

Being a high school student for the first time is quite an experience, and if you already posses some of the skills needed to accomplish your goals, then you already have a plan and long term check lists. If you do not, then you definitely made the right stop. Do not fret; you have plenty of time to discover your own self. Out school offers great extra curricular activities that help reinforce your time management skills, career guidance, stress relief and healthy balance between yourself and the heavy textbooks you will soon receive. With a double major in Biology and Secondary Education, I strive to become a role model and educator to the minds who have yet to be molded. My diverse background allows me to communicate with students in ways that create a better studying environment and lead to overall academic success. Although science is my passion, I love to learn new languages and adapt to other cultures. Born and raised in Romania, I moved to the United States right at the beginning of my high school career; I could say that I have experienced a bit of multiple worlds.
