ABSTRACT In the past years there has seen tremendous advancements in flexible display technologies.

This has happened mainly due to increase in demand and popularity of display technologies. There has been increasing interest in flexible displays and electronics. Flexibility is desirable because it promises low cost manufacture and offers new and emerging applications. A number of competing flexible display technologies are being developed even now. A durable and flexible display with low-power consumption, high-contrast ratio, has been a technical challenge for years. They have to be lightweight, rugged, and in some cases, conformal, wearable, rollable and unbreakable. The recent successful integration of flexible display technologies and the traditional web-based processing and/or inkjet technologies has opened up the possibility of low cost and high throughput roll-to-roll manufacturing and has shown the potential to replace the paper used today. In this paper we are going to review A novel microelectromechanical-systems (MEMS)controlled paper-like transmissive flexible display device by a combination of a cantilever with a flat plate and was realized by roll-to-roll printing process for the first time. This model provides predictions as well as improvement suggestions to both mechanical and electrical designs. A newly developed roll-to-roll printing process which was composed of flexography, gravure, liftoff, and lamination techniques used to manufacture this device was proved applicable on flexible electronics with high-volume, low-cost, and large-area solutions. The proved major advantages of this technology is mechanical reliability, low operation voltage, and process simplicity done by this work made the MEMS flexible display an important alternative to electrophoretic, electrowetting, and electro chromic systems. This technology also forms the basis of flexible electronics. Here we are also going to predict the future promises of these pervading technologies in various sectors in upcoming years.
