Perbedaan Kecemasan Komunikasi antara Mahasiswa yang Mengikuti Pendekatan Pembelajaran Student Centered Learning dengan Teacher Centered

ABSTRAK Kecemasan komunikasi adalah ketakutan, kekhawatiran atau perasaan negatif berupa perasaan panik ataupun gugup yang dialami individu dalam melakukan komunikasi. Tinggi rendahnya kecemasan komunikasi berhubungan dengan pendekatan pembelajaran yang diikuti oleh mahasiswa. Pendekatan pembelajaran seperti student centered learning dan teacher centered learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang bersifat komparatif yang bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan kecemasan komunikasi antara mahasiswa yang mengikuti pendekatan pembelajaran student centered learning dengan teacher centered learning. Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah quota sampling dan jumlah sampel penelitian adalah 120 mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala kecemasan komunikasi yang disusun berdasarkan teori Powell dan Powell (2010). Nilai reliabilitas skala kecemasan komunikasi adalah 0,954 yang terdiri dari 54 aitem. Hasil analisa data penelitian dengan menggunakan independent sample t-test. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini bahwa ada perbedaan kecemasan komunikasi antara mahasiswa yang mengikuti pendekatan pembelajaran student centered learning dengan teacher centered learning. Differences Communication Apprehension between Students Who Follow a Student Centered learning Approach to Teacher Centered Learning

ABSTRACT

Communication apprehension is a fear, anxiety or negative feelings of panic or nervous feelings experienced by individuals in the communication. High and low communication apprehension related learning approach followed by the students. Learning approaches such as the student centered learning and teacher centered learning. This research was a comparative study is aimed to see the difference communication apprehension between the students who follow a student centered learning approach to teacher centered learning. The sampling method was using quota sampling and a total of 120 students participated in this study. This study used scales as a measurement, the communication apprehension scale which is based on the theory of Powell and Powell (2010). The reliability of communication apprehension scale was 0,954 and consisted of 54 items. Data in this research was analyzed using independent sample t-test. The result indicates that there are difference communication apprehension between the students who follow a student centered learning approach to teacher centered learning.
