Abu AIshaq al-Kindi was an Arab philosopher, mathematician, physician and musician born in Kufa, Iraq in 800 AD and died in 870 AD. He made contributions in many fields including chemistry, astronomy, mathematics, logic, physics and philosophy. Some of his works included research on the reflection of light, geometrical optics, defining philosophy, determining correct dosages in medicine, and explaining laws of gravitational fall.
