ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS IN AN AUTOMOBILE

DEFINING ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS

The electronic circuits formed by studying the components are made of materials semiconductors. These materials have intermediate behavior between insulating (bad electrically conductive) and drivers (driving electric current very well).

APPLICATIONS

ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY IN AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS

Air bags ECU Anti-look brake system (ABS) Adaptive cruise control Emission control Traction control Automatic parking Navigation system Back-up collision sensor In-vehicle entertainment

Air bags

It is from the newtons 2nd law of motion It basically restrains the continuous motion of the passenger , by giving a soft surface to land on

And of late every passengers protection.

ECU

Is an electronic control unit that manages several aspects of the operation of the internal combustion engine.

ANTI-LOOK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS)

Up until the seventies , hitting the brakes too hard could lead to an accident The reason : when the coefficient of slip between tires and road surface is too low , hitting the brakes can cause wheel lock-up. The vehicle is no longer steerable and goes into a skid.

ELECTRIC POWER STEERING Power steering helps

drivers steer vehicles by augmenting steering effort of the steering wheel. Hydraulic or electric actuators add controlled energy to the steering mechanism, so the driver needs to provide only modest effort regardless of conditions
