By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

(P) Demonstrate the ability to use proper passing and stickhandling skill cues by successfully reaching the target (NASPE 1 MA CF 2.17 throughout the entire game). (C) Identify some strategies that will be used during the game when asked by the teacher (NASPE 2 MA CF 2.17 Informing/instruction). (A) Communicate well with your team at all times while trying to pass the ball (NASPE 5 MA CF 7.12 All game long). Check each objective is it specific? Is it achievable? Is it developmentally appropriate? Teacher Performance Objectives During the lesson the teacher will: HAve confidence in the rules that I am stating to the students. Give feedback to the students even though there will be two games going on at one time. Special Considerations What are the safety concerns? What is unique about the students in this class? Introduction/Informing: My S name is Mr. Boddie and I will be your teacher for this S S S weeks lesson. Today we will be playing a game of Ultimate Floor Hockey Rules: There will be 4 games played S S S T S S S each period. S S S Violations: No Slashing N o Slap Shots (above the waist)
No Body Checks No Lifting the Stick No High Sticks (above the waist) 1 Minute Penalty may be Assessed for ANY Violation No Face-offs The goalie will begin with ball. At the beginning of the game, captains will play rock, paper, scissors for possession After a goal, the team scored S S S upon will start with possession T S S S S S S of the ball.

Goalies can ROLL the ball out into play. The ball must be T played by a teammate before half court. Violation of this rule S S S S S S S S S S S results in a free ball to the opposing team at half court. Goalies MUST wear goggles at all times, EXCEPT when they have glasses. Goggles MUST be worn over the eyes. The Baseball Glove is optional

First Violation 1 minute penalty Second Violation 0 (zero) for the day There will be NO bending of the sticks! Violation: 1 Minute Penalty At the end of the period: Each team will be responsible for putting their baseball glove and goggles into the basket for that court. All sticks must be placed (NOT Thrown) into the net at the end of the period. Penalties for not completing these tasks are as follows: Throwing the stick into the net: -1 Not putting equipment in right place: - 2 for every team member & a loss for the previous game

Ask the students to state the rules just to make sure that they know what the rules are and are not just saying they know. Review some of the skills that will be used during the lesson by asking the students if they know the skill cues for each skill being used. Transition:Have the students get with their normal team ready for the days game. That number will be a colored that they will pick up and go to the assigned area for that team. Play the game- 5 minutes then switch- repeat process until time is up Easier- Make the end zone larger Harder- Separate the end zone into 2 squares instead of 1 large rectangle Transition: bring it to the middle of the gymnasium for closure Closure: What skills were utilized in todays lesson? What was the most important rule that was stated today?. Name 2 strategies your team used today in order to be successful. Transition: Go change and get ready for the next class
