Title: Pre-Student Teaching Vocabulary Lesson Plan Creation Date: March 2013 Artifact Description: This artifact is a lesson

plan that I collaborated closely with my cooperating teacher to create during my pre-student teaching placement. This was one of the earlier lessons I created and taught during my placement so I used my cooperating teacher as a resource to make sure I was aiming for the correct curriculum goals and creating a solid lesson plan. ALIGNMENT Wisconsin Teacher Standard Alignment This experience best aligns with standard ten of the Wisconsin Teacher Development and Licensure Standards which states: The teacher fosters relationships with school colleagues, parents, and agencies in the larger community to support students learning and well being. This experience aligns with standard ten because I created a great working relationship with my cooperating teacher, who I still am in contact with today, and I used the people around me to help create the best learning environment I could for the students. I also grew as a professional by listening to and implementing different strategies and methods for working with students. UW-Platteville School of Education Knowledge, Skills, and Disposition Statement Alignment This experience best aligns with KSD4.e. which states: The candidate is aware of opportunities for professional development to improve content knowledge and pedagogical skill and can take an active role in assisting other educators. This experience best aligns with this statement because I took an active role in seeking out another educator to collaborate with and help create this lesson plan. I also took advantage of an opportunity for professional development by asking an experienced teacher to help me create an effective lesson plan and develop my pedagogical skills. Secondary Alignments KS1.d.: Demonstrates Knowledge of Resources KSD4.b.: Maintains Accurate Records KSD4.c.: Communicates with Families SD4.d.: Contributes to the School and District KSD4.e.: Grows and Develops Professionally KSD4.f.: Shows Professionalism REFLECTION What I learned about teaching/learning: It is important to use all of the resources I may have at my disposal in order to create a diverse learning experience. There are many great ideas and activities that many teachers use, and they can be adapted and used in many different ways. What I learned about myself as a prospective educator:

It is important to communicate with colleagues in order to make sure we are on the same page and to keep the same curriculum goals. Other teachers may have ideas that I had not thought of that are great ways to keep the students active and involved.
