ABSTRACT
Aim of the Study:
The present study investigate the extent of effectiveness of neurolinguistic programming in the relapse prevention through reaching to
the structure of the subjective experiences to substances abusers, that
related to their conscious and unconscious processes, and reframing
these experiences to maintain abstinence as a desired outcome, or the
relapse prevention as long time as possible.
Sample of the Study:
Six cases of substances abusers with mean age 24.17 years old.
Tools of the Study:
1- File of psychological examination for addicted patients.
2- Questionnaire of the relapse situations 100.
3- The strategies of reframing through the model of neurolinguistic programming that involved four stages of application:
1- The first stage: meta model, pacing and identify the
primary representational systems.
2- The second stage: sub- submodalities, six-step reframe and
anchoring.
3- The third stage: Desired outcome: behavioral change.
4- The fourth stage: Reassessment for further work in the first
and second stages: feed back therapist through six months after
follow-up.

The result of the study

The result of the study indicate these points:
1- The structure of subjective experiences to these cases involves
perspectives and positive original intents, that are identified by
the primary internal representational systems and their maps of
reality, that differ from the actual reality in one or more than the
processes of human modeling: generalization, or distortion, or
deletion.
2- Neuro-linguistic programming helps these cases to reframe
their subjective experiences about substances abuse by sub
modalities which belong to these experiences, and integration of
internal conflict parts that generates the behavior who want to
be sober, and who want to be addict by separating the positive
original intention from actually manifested behavior of
substances abuse, and assist them in retrieving their internal
sources and skills to create a number of behavioral choices and
alternatives to respond to the positive original intent without
going to substances abuse, in addition to anchoring desired
outcome response through use of a sensory mode visual,
auditory, or kinesthetic that related to representational systems
instead of triggers which connected to substances abuse to call
it when needed.
3- Relapse due to the lack of internal sources and skills of these cases to
create a number of behavioral choices and alternatives to response to the
positive original intent of substances abuse without going to it, where the
defect in ecological state of those cases, they arent committed to do these
alternatives with extreme addiction, and its history in the absence of family
role to this ecological state lead to retroactive modern frames front of old
frames, which still effective in unconscious, then relapse occurs, hence the
effectiveness of neuro-linguistic programming in the relapse prevention
identified by examining the subsequent ecological state substances abusers
and reframing another time.
